About the Artist

Richard F. Rouse is widely recognized as an outstanding art educator. Numerous students under his direction have gone on to become highly successful artists, including Travis Hathaway, a major Pixar-Disney animator. Now retired from teaching, Rouse has redirected much energy and focus to creating sculptural works. Specializing in reclaimed architectural materials, he integrates man-made and natural objects into highly unique assemblages. He is currently showing throughout the Texas Hill Country, and most recently in Rockport, Tx. (Austin Street Gallery). Rouse’s work is held in several private collections, including that of Howard E. Butt.
