About the Artist

It is with great joy that I am able to create and discover a world of my own.  For the last thirty years I have devoted my life to artistic endeavors.  My themes range from religious to folk art to abstract with an overall feeling of a "celebration of life".  My work has a bold, colorful, distinctive "CLETUS" look .  I am very productive and grateful to be able to share my gift of art with others.

Brother Cletus was born in Florissant, Missouri.  Came to Texas in 1977.  Has been director of the St. Mary's University Art Center/Gallery since 1978 where he exhibits his many works. During 47 years of creating art a distinctive "Cletus" style has developed. Working in a variety of media, being shockingly productive, traveling worldwide, exhibiting widely and enjoying every minute of the creative process makes for a full life.
