About the Artist

Painting one's perceptions is the sharing of one's most private thoughts and ideas with the viewer. I strive to incorporate these inner thoughts and impressions into my work, be it paper or canvas. My love of color and texture spur me on to set down what I would like to convey to others through my art. Collage, acrylic, mixed media, transparency ……all media methods excite me. There is nothing more wonderful than viewing a piece of art that speaks to your soul and I hope that my art does that for others.

Anne Brennan Vela is a signature member of Texas Watercolor Society, the International Society of Experimental Artists and the International Society of Acrylic Painters. Anne founded the Laredo Center for the Arts, Laredo, Texas, in 1993. She was awarded the Paul Harris award for her contribution to the arts in Laredo, where she resided for 40 years before moving to San Antonio where she maintains a home studio. Her work has been recognized regionally as well as nationally. Presently she belongs to the critique group 'Brushstrokes' and paints plein air with Art & Co.
